BIOGRAPHY

For me, music began at a very young age. As a kid, I remember listening to “Beatles Brunch” on the radio with my family on Sundays. We would dance around and sing along to the music. That, along with the fact that the first few concerts I went to were bands from the 60’s, like the Beach Boys and the Monkees hooked me on music from that era.

I sang in choir at school and began playing guitar in middle school, although I didn’t really take it seriously at the time. An illness caused me to become deaf in my left ear during high school after which I stepped back from music for a while. By the time I was in college though I started to become obsessed with music again.

College was a really frustrating time for me; because I never seemed to know what I wanted do when I was finished. Towards the end of college, I started writing music for the first time and at first it didn’t go very well. However, I was lucky to have a few friends who were musicians that could help me and over time things became easier. As time went by, music went from being a hobby to being the only thing I could imagine myself doing.

On the Personal Side of Things

I was born on Nov 24th in De Soto Iowa. I was kind of a shy kid and grew up in a small town where everyone knew each other.

My family went on a lot of family vacations, spending time at the beach and traveling around the U.S. It’s one of the reasons I love to travel so much. I’ll always remember my first time going to Europe. I visited Germany, Austria, and Switzerland with my high school German class and it was a wonderful experience. Since then, I’ve done several backpacking trips through Europe, Australia, and Iceland. It’s always an amazing experience seeing a new country for the first time.

Along with travel, I’ve always had a strong affection towards animals. I grew up surrounded by dogs and cats. I loved visiting the zoo and seeing all the cool animals as a kid. Probably one of the biggest highlights of my trip to Australia was when I was able to see the kangaroos and hold a Koala Bear.

I’m also a big adrenaline junkie. I love skydiving, bungee jumping, surfing and riding motorcycles, pretty much anything that gives me a rush. My grandfather was a pilot, so I grew up loving aviation and started taking pilot lessons in college and even soloed, but I ended up putting it on hold because I found it hard to keep up with that and classes in college. Yet, I plan on finishing up my pilot license someday. I also love to go to concerts and probably the greatest moment of my life was seeing Paul McCartney live in the front row in Dublin!
